CREATING PATHWAYS TO HOMEOWNERSHIP AND LONG-TERM FINANCIAL STABILITY
OUR PROGRAM
HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAM
The Homeownership Program is the SILL Foundation’s flagship initiative. We acquire properties — through direct purchases of foreclosed or distressed houses as well as property donations — and revitalize them. At the same time, we guide program participants through financial coaching and qualification. Once single mothers and low-income families complete the qualification process, they are ready for purchase and homeownership.
PROGRAM COMPONENTS
PROPERTY ACQUISITION & RENEWAL
We identify, purchase, and accept donations of distressed or foreclosed houses in the local community, renovating them into safe, high-quality, and affordable homes for program participants.
FINANCIAL EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION
Participants engage in one-on-one financial coaching, budgeting, credit building, and readiness assessments to fulfill eligibility criteria and qualify for homeownership.
HOME PLACEMENT & SUSTAINABILITY
Once qualified, participants are placed into Foundation-restored homes, supported by post-placement mentorship and resources to ensure lasting stability and success.
WHO THE PROGRAM SERVES
The Homeownership Program is designed for families who are working toward homeownership but face barriers accessing traditional pathways.
The program is intended for:
- Single-parent households
- Low- to moderate-income families

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility requirements may include, but are not limited to:

PROGRAM PROCESS
APPLICATION SUBMISSION & INTAKE
Interested families submit an application and complete an initial assessment to determine program eligibility.
FINANCIAL COACHING & QUALIFICATION
Approved candidates participate in structured financial education, debt reduction, and credit building to achieve program qualification.
PROPERTY ACQUISTION & HOME PLACEMENT
While participants complete their qualification milestones, the SILL Foundation acquires distressed, foreclosed, or donated homes and restores them. Upon qualification, families are ready to purchase and be placed into these safe, affordable homes.
LONG-TERM HOMEOWNERSHIP & ONGOING SUPPORT
Families transition into homeownership backed by post-placement support and guidance to foster lasting economic independence and neighborhood stability.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
Through the Homeownership Program, families increase financial literacy, strengthen credit awareness, and gain the knowledge needed to pursue sustainable homeownership.
The Foundation tracks participation, progress, and outcomes to support continuous improvement and accountability.
