BOARD OF DIRECTORS


The SILL Foundation Board of Directors is composed of individuals committed to advancing the organization’s mission and strengthening the communities we serve.

Lula Williams

Founder, President & Chair of the Board

Lula is the Founder and President of the SILL Foundation, where she leads with vision and purpose to expand opportunities for families to achieve stability and homeownership. With a background in patient care, including home health and hospice, she has spent her life serving others with compassion.

An ordained minister and certified counselor, Lula brings both professional and spiritual insight to her work. She founded the organization after witnessing the challenges faced by single mothers and low-income families striving to provide for their children. Through SILL, she is committed to creating sustainable pathways to affordable homeownership and stronger family foundations.

Lula remains actively involved in her church and community and is a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who finds joy in gardening, learning, and helping others grow.

Laviyette Kelly, MHA

Secretary

Laviyette serves as Secretary of the SILL Foundation and brings nearly two decades of experience in healthcare as a Registered Nurse and MDS Coordinator. Her professional background includes leadership roles such as Director of Nursing, MDS Director, and Quality Assurance/Infection Control, with experience across community care, mental health, and long-term care settings.

Laviyette joined the foundation to build meaningful connections with families and strengthen community engagement. She is deeply committed to promoting sustainable homeownership and long-term economic stability for those in need.

Laviyette holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services from the University of Phoenix, as well as an Associate in Nursing.

Outside of work, she enjoys family time, music, and reading.

Alfonzo Williams Jr., MBA

Treasurer & Administrator

Alfonzo serves as Treasurer and Administrator of the SILL Foundation, where he oversees financial operations and supports organizational strategy. He brings a strong background in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management, with experience across corporate, contract, and small business environments.

Alfonzo holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is a certified QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor. He is also a licensed real estate agent and is currently pursuing CPA licensure. Driven by a passion for equity and opportunity, he is committed to helping individuals and families build stable futures through access to homeownership.

Outside of his professional work, he enjoys learning, problem-solving, and playing and watching tennis.

OUR GOVERNANCE COMMITMENT


The SILL Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for ensuring the organization operates with integrity, transparency, and accountability. The Board provides strategic direction, financial oversight, and policy guidance to support the Foundation’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Through strong governance practices, the Foundation ensures responsible stewardship of resources, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and alignment with community needs.

BOARD ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES


The Board of Directors provides governance, strategic oversight, and fiduciary responsibility to ensure the Foundation fulfills its mission effectively and responsibly.

Board responsibilities include:

Mission & Strategic Oversight

Establishing and safeguarding the Foundation’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.

Fiduciary Responsibility

Overseeing financial management, approving budgets, and ensuring responsible use of organizational resources.

Legal & Regulatory Compliance

Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local laws, including nonprofit governance and tax-exempt requirements.

Program Oversight & Evaluation

Monitoring program effectiveness, outcomes, and alignment with the Foundation’s mission and community needs.

Organizational Support & Leadership

Providing guidance on policies, systems, and operational practices to strengthen the organization.

Fundraising & Resource Development

Supporting fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and strategic partnerships.

Board Development & Governance

Participating in board recruitment, orientation, and ongoing governance improvement.

The Board operates in accordance with the Foundation’s bylaws and adopted governance policies.
